Tip: A narrow village road leads in. Shoes off at the entrance.

  7. Back at central Bhubaneswar

Drive times come from road routing without traffic. Old Town lanes are narrow and slow, and in Puri the police often stop cars short of the temple at busy times, so you may walk the last stretch of Grand Road. On the Konark and Puri day allow an hour more than the map shows. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

Book a cab for these 3 days

More or less time in Bhubaneswar?

Questions people ask

Which order should the three days go in?

Any order, but keep days one and three off a Monday: both museums and Nandankanan Zoo close that day. The Konark and Puri day works on any day, so make it the Monday if your trip has one.

Is 3 days enough for Bhubaneswar?

Yes. Three days cover the Old Town, Konark and Puri, the zoo and the caves at an easy pace. Chilika Lake would need a fourth day.

Should I stay in Puri instead?

If you want sunsets on the beach, stay a night or two in Puri and see Konark from there (about 35 km). These plans keep one hotel in Bhubaneswar, which is closer to the airport and the Old Town.
