There are old trees from all over the world, a lake, and the Lalbagh Rock, a 3,000-million-year-old outcrop with one of Kempe Gowda's watch towers on top.

Tip: The Venkataramana Swamy temple next door is worth a look on the way out. The palace is small, so pair it with the fort, a few minutes away.

  7. 6

    Shivoham Shiva Temple

TemplesOpen every day, about 09:00 to 21:00 (listings also give 24 hours or 06:00 to 20:00). Free; small charges for the extra shrines?

Tip: It is more theme park than old temple, and children like it. Allow extra time on Old Airport Road: it is slow most of the day.

  8. Lunch, about 1 h. Your driver will know a place nearby. The times after this include it.

MuseumsTuesday to Sunday, about 11:00 to 17:00 (listings give 10:00 to 17:00 or 11:00 to 18:30); closed on Mondays and national holidays. Small ticket

Tip: Closed on Mondays. Leave your bag at the counter. The cafe in the garden is a good stop before the palace.

Tip: The audio guide comes with the ticket and is worth using. The camera fee is extra, and phone photos may be charged too: check at the counter.

  8. 6

    ISKCON Temple

    ISKCON Temple

One of the largest ISKCON temples in the world, opened in 1997 on Hare Krishna Hill in Rajajinagar. A gold-plated flagpost and tower top a temple of glass and stone to Radha and Krishna. The way up and down runs past chanting, stalls and the prasadam hall.

TemplesOpen 07:15 to 13:15 and 16:15 to 20:20 on weekdays; open through midday at weekends and on holidays. Free; the special darshan costs extra

Tip: Leave shoes and phones at the counters at the bottom. The free darshan queue is long at weekends; the way out passes many shops, so allow the full hour.

  9. Back at MG Road

Drive times come from road routing without traffic. Bangalore traffic is among the worst in India, from about 08:30 to 11:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, and the Outer Ring Road and Old Airport Road are slow most of the day, so allow extra time on every leg. Cubbon Park's roads are closed to cars from 05:00 to 08:00 and on Sundays, so the cab stops on Kasturba Road. For Nandi Hills, leave by 04:40: the road north is empty then, and the hill fills up by mid-morning at weekends. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

More or less time in Bangalore?

Questions people ask

Is 2 days enough for Bangalore?

Yes, for the city. Add a third day for the Nandi Hills sunrise and the Adiyogi statue, about 60 km north, or half a day at Bannerghatta Biological Park to the south.

Does it matter which day I do first?

Only for Monday. Day two should not be a Monday, when the National Gallery of Modern Art is shut. Day one is the better Monday day, but one listing says the HAL Aerospace Museum also closes on Mondays: check before you go, or swap it for Bannerghatta (closed Tuesdays).

Why does day one start so early?

The flower trade at K.R. Market is busiest from about 04:30 to 08:00, and the morning is the only time the Bull Temple and the cave temple are both open before their midday closing.

Is the HAL Aerospace Museum worth it?

Yes, above all with children. Real fighter jets and helicopters stand outside, and you can sit in a few cockpits. It reopened in April 2026 after an upgrade. Tickets stop at 16:30, so the plan reaches it at about 14:25.
