Drive times come from road routing without traffic. The roads between McLeodganj and Dharamshala are steep, narrow and often jammed, Temple Road and the Bhagsu road most of all, at weekends and in season. Allow more time than the map shows. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

More or less time in Dharamshala?

Questions people ask

Is Kangra Fort worth a day?

Yes, if you like history. It is one of the oldest forts in India, on a ridge above two rivers, and the climb to the top takes about 30 minutes. With Chamunda and the Brajeshwari temple it makes a full day, back by about 15:15.

Can I add the Masroor temples on day three?

Only if you drop Chamunda and start early. Masroor is about 45 km past Kangra Fort, and the day would grow to over 130 km of hill roads.

Which order should the three days go in?

Keep day one off a Saturday (Tibet Museum) and day two off a Monday (Kangra Art Museum). Day three opens every day, so it can go on either of those.
