Questions people ask

How many days do you need for Vagamon sightseeing?

One day for the town's sights: Kurisumala, Vagamon Lake, Thangal Para, the meadows and the pine forest. Two days if you also want Illikkal Kallu and Ilaveezhapoonchira, about 30 km west.

Where is the Vagamon glass bridge, and is it in these plans?

It is a cantilever glass bridge at the DTPC adventure park at Kolahalamedu, open about 09:00 to 17:30. Tickets were about Rs 250 in 2024, with timed slots, a few minutes on the bridge, and waits of two or three hours on busy days. It closes in bad weather, so it is not a fixed stop in the plans; day one of the two-day plan leaves the late afternoon free for it.

What are Vagamon's three hills?

Kurisumala, Thangal Para and Murugan Mala, sacred to Christians, Muslims and Hindus. Kurisumala and Thangal Para are in the plans.

Can you go paragliding in Vagamon?

Yes, in season, with licensed operators, and Kerala Tourism holds an international paragliding festival here each year. Flights depend on the wind; book with the operator directly.

What about Marmala Waterfalls?

It is near Teekoy, below Vagamon, about 26 km by road. The last stretch is a jeep track and a walk of about 30 minutes each way, so it is not in the cab plans. Go in the morning, and do not swim in the pool.

Is a full-day cab enough for Vagamon local sightseeing?

Yes. The town day is about 29 km and the Illikkal Kallu day about 78 km, both inside a usual 8 hour, 80 km day. Check the hours and kilometre limit with the operator before you book.
