Questions people ask

How many days do you need for Udaipur sightseeing?

Two days covers the main sights: one for the City Palace and Lake Pichola, one for Fateh Sagar, the gardens, Shilpgram and the Monsoon Palace. A third day adds Eklingji and the Nagda temples outside the city.

What are the City Palace Udaipur timings?

The City Palace is usually open 09:30 to 17:30 every day. Listings differ, so check before you go. The Lake Pichola boat leaves from inside the palace.

Can I see Udaipur in one day by cab?

Yes, the heart of it: Jagdish Temple and the City Palace in the morning, a boat on Lake Pichola, Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Sagar in the afternoon, and sunset at Ambrai Ghat.

Where is the best sunset in Udaipur?

Ambrai Ghat for sunset over the City Palace across the lake. Sajjangarh has the widest view over the city, but it closes around 18:00, so go in the late afternoon. The Karni Mata ropeway sits in between.

Is Jagdish Temple open all day?

No. It closes from about 12:30 to 17:00, so the plans visit it first thing in the morning.

Is a full-day cab enough for Udaipur local sightseeing?

Yes. Most of Udaipur's sights are within about 10 km of the old city, so a full-day local cab covers a day plan comfortably. Check the hours and kilometre limit with the operator before you book.
