Lakes & viewpointsOpen in daylight; boats and kayaks in daylight?

Tip: Paragliding depends on the wind, so ask at the lake before you plan on it.

  7. Back at Mall Road, Nainital

Drive times come from road routing without traffic. Nainital's roads are narrow and winding, and the town jams on summer weekends and holidays. Allow more time than the map shows, often an hour more on the lakes and Mukteshwar days. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

Questions people ask

Is 2 days enough for Nainital?

Yes, for the town and the lakes. Add a third day for Mukteshwar, or a morning for the zoo or bird watching at Pangot.

Which order should the two days go in?

Either. No stop on these two days closes on a weekday. Do the town day on the clearer day, because Snow View and Tiffin Top need a clear sky for the view.

Can I add the zoo?

Yes, on the town day, unless it is a Monday, when the zoo is closed. It takes about 90 minutes and the path is steep. Swap it for Land's End to keep the day the same length.
