    Memorials, forts & palacesAbout 09:30 to 17:00

Tip: Small entry fee. The tomb and a chapel are inside the fort walls.

  7. Back at Kanyakumari town

Drive times come from road routing without traffic. The streets round the temple are crowded in the morning and at weekends, and the road through Nagercoil to Padmanabhapuram is slow, so allow extra time. The ferry can stop at short notice in rough sea, so keep the rock for whichever day the boats run. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

More or less time in Kanyakumari?

Questions people ask

Is 2 days enough for Kanyakumari?

Yes. Two days covers the town, the rocks, Suchindram and Padmanabhapuram Palace, with two sunsets and a sunrise. A third day suits Thirparappu Falls, about 55 km away, or Trivandrum.

Which order should the two days go in?

Either, but Padmanabhapuram Palace is closed on Mondays, so make day two any other day. If the ferry is stopped on day one, swap the days and try the rock again.

How long does Padmanabhapuram Palace take?

About 2 hours. It closes from 12:30 to 14:00, so the plan arrives at about 10:15 and has lunch after.
