Drive times come from road routing without traffic. Darjeeling's roads are steep, narrow and crowded, Hill Cart Road shares space with the toy train line, and the road to Tiger Hill has a queue of cars before dawn, so allow extra time on every drive. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

More or less time in Darjeeling?

Questions people ask

Is 2 days enough for Darjeeling?

Yes, for the town and the sunrise. Add a third day for Mirik, or keep it for the toy train and a slow walk round the Mall.

Which order should the two days go in?

Either, as long as day two falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. The sunrise day works on any day, so if it is cloudy on your first morning you can swap the days and try Tiger Hill again.

What do I do after the sunrise day ends at 09:30?

Sleep, then walk. Chowrasta, the Mall, Observatory Hill and the Lloyd Botanical Garden are all close to Clubside on foot. The toy train joy ride to Ghum also fits in the afternoon.
