  6. Back at central Chandigarh

Drive times come from road routing without traffic. City roads are wide and quick, but the Zirakpur and Kalka highway is slow at rush hour and on Friday and Sunday evenings, when Shimla traffic passes. The roads up to Morni and Kasauli are narrow and winding, so allow more time than the map gives. Opening hours marked ? are not yet confirmed, so check them before you go.

More or less time in Chandigarh?

Questions people ask

Are the Morni and Kasauli days too long?

Each is over 100 km, more than the 80 km of a city day, so ask for an outstation fare. Both end with a winding hill road, so plan on more time than the map shows.

Can I stay a night in Kasauli instead?

Yes. Kasauli is small and quiet, and a night there lets you walk the Gilbert Trail in the evening. Book the cab one way and back the next day.

Can I go to Shimla as the third day?

Shimla is about 114 km each way, too far for a day out and back. Go as a trip of its own: see the Chandigarh to Shimla cab page.
